what?

No visit again this week.
That makes two weeks in a row there's been no call from the CM or the case aide and no visit with MGM.
What a wonderful transition.............

Is it really all that evil for me to be hoping something happened to MGM? Nothing catastrophic, just something enough to make her, well, go away.

I used to hope she'd be ruled out or give up. Then I just started hoping the boy would have a good life no matter where he ended-up. That he would become a wonderful man some day and that I could smile hoping my little contribution helped to shape the rest of his days.

Now I'm back to hoping on the first thing.

Ah that ethical ambiguity, not to mention emotional complexity.

You feel what you feel.

It may not be PC, but I'm still hoping for the first for you guys as well. Maybe not that she 'go away', but that she choose to let him be with a family that has already become his home.

There's no rules against hoping!

Not PC, but natural and what I'm hoping for for both of you, as well.

I know this cycle and I know how much it sucks. Hang in there.

I can't blame you! You seem to be the one most concerned with his well-being!

I hope she will just give up. I really do.

You are so much more patient than I am. I hate bureaucracy and the whole "hurry up and wait" crap. My gut is telling me that MGM is really NOT into this reunification and it is being forced upon her by the courts/powers that be. Can anyone (judge, court service officer etc) intervene and talk to her one on one to see if she is even interested in raising him? She may be delighted to let him stay with you if it is presented to her in the right way....just a thought.

I am still keeping everything crossed for you. I also am getting the impression the gm isn't on board with this whole thing.

How about you telling Grandma you'd be happy to take the responsibility off her hands and add her to the family as another grandma? Or have you done that already, I can't remember?
